Most people quit Instagram not because they’re lazy, but because they’re guessing.
If you don’t know what’s working, it’s impossible to stay motivated.
That’s why the top creators track what they post, how it performs, and what to change next.
This blog gives you a 100-day system to turn content into insight, and insight into real, repeatable growth.

Why 100 Days?

Because:

  • One post doesn’t tell you anything

  • One week is too emotional

  • One month is too small

  • But 100 days = pattern, not fluke

This window lets you test content, positioning, frequency, and format without changing the game halfway through.

What to Track (and Why)

Here are the 6 metrics to track weekly for each post:

1. Reach

Tells you: Are people even seeing this?

  • Reels should spike reach

  • Carousels + photos will usually be lower

2. Saves

Tells you: Is this valuable enough to keep?

  • Education content and carousels should lead here

  • Aim for 4–5% save rate

3. Comments

Tells you: Is it sparking emotion or conversation?

  • Look at quality, not just quantity

  • “This hit me” > “🔥”

4. Shares

Tells you: Is it good enough to send to a friend?

  • Strong opinions, punchy carousels, and relatable memes perform well here

5. Profile Visits

Tells you: Did they care enough to check you out?

  • Shows how strong your hook + post synergy is

6. Follows Gained

Tells you: Did the content convert curiosity into commitment?

  • Most important long-term growth lever

  • Track per post AND weekly total

How to Track It (Without Overwhelm)

Use:

  • A Google Sheet (1 tab per week)

  • A Notion board (with columns for post type, metric, takeaway)

  • Or just a recurring weekly screenshot + bullet notes in Notes.app

Optional columns:

  • Format (Reel, carousel, photo)

  • Topic (mindset, value, lifestyle, etc.)

  • Hook used

  • What you learned

  • What to test next

The goal isn’t to be perfect, it’s to get pattern awareness.

What to Do After 100 Days

Now that you’ve tracked the data, change how you post.

1. Double Down on Formats That Drive Follows

Example:

  • Reels = biggest reach, but low follow rate

  • Carousels = less reach, but high saves + follows
Solution: Use more carousels with CTAs. Reels = hook content, carousels = trust-builders.

2. Optimize High-Performing Hooks

  • Which phrases got the most reach?

  • What tones drove the most replies?

  • Reuse what works; retire what doesn’t

Keep a swipe file of your own winning lines.

3. Adjust Your Mix (Go from 40/30/20 to…)

Based on what works:

  • 60/30/10 → if Reels outperform

  • 30/50/20 → if carousels convert

  • 20/40/40 → if photos connect

Growth is dynamic. Data tells you how to pivot.

P.S. Clarity creates momentum. When you measure the right things, your content stops feeling random and starts feeling like a system. We help you build that system, data-first. Let’s get to work.
