Let’s be honest: getting views is nice, but views don’t build community.
Comments do.

Comments tell the algorithm,
“This post matters.”
They signal connection. They invite conversation.
They open the door for trust, feedback, and let’s not forget, sales.

But here's the problem most creators face:
You're posting consistently, delivering value… and still getting radio silence in the comments.

So what gives?

The truth is, if you want more comments, you have to give people a reason to say something, and make it easy for them to do it.

Here’s how.

Step 1: Stop Posting Like You’re on a Stage

Most posts feel like a TED Talk: polished, informative, and… one-sided.

But platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn aren’t lecture halls, they’re living rooms.

People don’t comment when they feel like an audience.
They comment when they feel like they’re in a conversation.

→ Talk to them, not at them.
→ End with a prompt that feels natural to reply to.

Step 2: Ask a Question That Doesn’t Feel Like Homework

“Let me know your thoughts in the comments” doesn’t work anymore.

You need specific, low-effort prompts that are easy to answer in 5 seconds or less.
Here are 5 that consistently drive replies:

▪ “What’s one thing you’d do differently?”

▪ “Which one are you: A or B?”

▪ “Have you tried this before? Honest answer.”

▪ “Be real, how often do you actually [insert relatable action]?”

▪ “Would you send this to your past self?”

These work because they invite identity, emotion, and opinion the three ingredients that unlock comments.

Step 3: Post Comment-Worthy Content (Here’s the Formula)

If you’re stuck, use this structure:

Hook → Call out a belief, pain point, or myth
Value → Share a tip, reframe, or story
Prompt → End with a comment trigger like “Agree or nah?” or “Curious where you stand on this…”

Example:

“Posting daily doesn’t burn you out. Posting without a system does.
I batch-create everything in 90 minutes a week.
What’s your biggest block when it comes to showing up consistently?”

Result? Dozens of comments from people who feel seen.

Step 4: Engage First

Want more comments? Go give some.

Block out 10–15 minutes before and after you post. Comment meaningfully on other creators’ content. Reply to your own commenters like a real person, not a bot.

It builds reciprocity. And yes, the algorithm notices.

Final Thoughts

If you want more comments, you don’t need to post more often.
You need to post with intention.

Make your content feel like a two-way street.
Invite people in. Spark reactions. Ask something real.

Because the truth is, people want to connect.
They just need a reason and a little permission, to speak up.

Give them that, and the comments will come.
